Concrete repair questions and answers

Concrete problems we fix

Sinking concrete or cracked concrete is a sign that there are problems under the concrete. You may hope it won't get worse, but without a fix, it very likely will.

Concrete leveling is one solution. Level Best Northwest uses a leveling compound called Eco-Rise to stabilize the soil under the concrete and lift the sunken slab back to where it should be, without demolishing it. We've fixed many slab problems in the community without replacing the concrete.

Good candidates for lifting

What types of projects are good for concrete lifting?

Concrete lifting works for many different projects, from residential garages, to crawl space repair, to businesses with sunken sidewalks or driveways.

Uneven concrete can cause serious injuries to family members and guests coming to your home, or to customers and visitors at your business. Replacing a slab can be messy and time-consuming. Lifting and repair is more affordable than replacement, and it takes less time. If conditions are right for stabilization, it makes sense to use the simpler method.

Questions we hear

Before you call about a sunken slab.

Concrete leveling lifts sunken slabs back to their original height by injecting expanding polyurethane foam beneath the concrete. It fixes the cause, which is voids and settled soil, without tearing out and replacing the slab.

Most residential jobs take a few hours. The polyurethane foam cures in about 15 minutes, the injection holes are patched, and the surface is ready to use the same day.

When the soil underneath is stabilized at the same time, concrete leveling is a long-term repair. Polyurethane foam does not absorb water or break down, so it holds the slab in place as long as the ground stays supported.

Leveling lifts a slab that has already sunk. Stabilizing fills voids and strengthens the soil underneath to prevent future settling. In most projects we stabilize the soil and lift the slab in the same visit.

Driveways, sidewalks, patios, garage floors, pool decks and entry steps. Almost any sunken exterior slab that is still structurally sound is a candidate for foam leveling.

No. We do not perform structural foundation repair. We can address cosmetic concrete issues around foundations, but if replacement or structural work is required, we'll tell you honestly.
